- Ethics in Real Estate - This online course covers duties to clients and customers, duties to the public, duties to brokers, and case studies.
- Tax Free Exchanges - The topics included in this course covers the basics of a tax free exchange of investment property. Topics covered include requirements of a tax free exchange, types of exchanges and the methods for transferring title when an exchange takes place.
- Overview of Real Estate Law - The subject matter of this continuing education course will cover themes such as provisional status, reciprocity agreements, real estate forms, continuing education, prelicensure, and the Minnesota Real Esate Commision.
- Contracts and Closing Statements - This course will provide knowledge for preclosing procedures, RESPA, closing staements, prorations, contracts used in real estate, discharge of contracts, federal and local laws and requirements, and pertinent legal information.
These are the current requirements for renewing your Minnesota Real Estate Broker license. We will always provide the newest information available and will update the requirements as soon as there are changes.
- To renew your Real Estate Broker License in the state of Minnesota, you are required to complete 30 hours of continuing education every 2 years.
- Real Estate Broker licenses expire on June 30 of the renewing year. All continuing education must be completed prior to expiration.
- A minimum of 1 hour must be fair housing law and I hour of agency law. A minimum of 15 hours must be completed within the first year of the renewal cycle. The remaining hours must be taken in courses that have been approved by the Board.
- Do not submit continuing education hours to the Board with renewal. Licensees must retain a record of continuing education completion with their own records. The Board will conduct random audits to verify continuing education compliance.
